Christmas is fast approaching and by now you’ve probably at least started to think about the gifts you’ll be buying for your nearest and dearest. Chances are, if you’re reading this you probably love cars, or at least know someone who does. If that’s the case, stick with us.
We’ve curated an extra special list of Christmas gift ideas featuring books, art and more, from people who you may possibly be familiar with.
Please note that due to the personalised nature of many of these gifts, and the current situation regarding post in the UK, it may not be possible to receive all of these gifts in time for Christmas. We still wanted to highlight them, however, as we think that they are fantastic gifts for car-lovers, no matter the occasion.
Books
Do you know an avid auto restorer? A long-drive lover? How about a friend who revels in a rally?
Heritage customers Richard Jones and SW Barratt have both written fascinating books that cover these things and more.
For anyone who is interested in classic car restoration, SW Barratt’s Automotive Restorers Guide is a must-have. Part Mercedes memoir, part catalogue of useful contacts, his guide covers everything you need to know about classic car restoration from an engine rebuild to having a key cut. The book can be purchased either as an eBook or a paperback through the website, or via Amazon.
If the motoring of yesteryear is more appealing, Richard Jones’ three books may just be perfect. In Every Picture Tells a Story- The 1958 Monaco Grand Prix, we are taken on a journey back in time to look at what made that particular race so pivotal in the history of motorsport. Through the Lanes and into the Forests gives a personal glimpse into British rallying in the 1960s with a unique collection of colour images from the time, and Putting Wales, Carmarthenshire and Llandovery on the Map takes a look at historic driving routes in Wales, and the cartography (map-making) from the area. Richard’s books can be purchased directly from him by emailing hrandjmbooks@gmail.com.
