We’re on a mission to celebrate our customers, their classic cars and their stories.
Every day, we speak to like-minded classic car owners, and each one has a story behind their car: why they bought it, their favourite memories in it, and what it truly means to them. As classic car insurance brokers, we love hearing these stories every day. So, we decided to share them with the world.

THE PROJECT: WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
We asked our customers from far and wide to come forward with their classics, photos and stories. People all over the UK got in touch with us, sending us a beautiful range of stories, each one as unique as the next, but all tied together with the same common purpose: their love of classic cars.
From Aston Martins to VW Beetles, the stories behind our customers’ cars are touching, funny, poignant and often downright extraordinary. We’re incredibly proud to share them with you, and we hope you enjoy this series as much as we have. Whether you’re a concours fan or prefer the rough and tumble of off roading, there’s something for everyone in our Customer Stories series. Sit back and enjoy real stories behind real cars and – most importantly – real people.
THE PROCESS: HOW DID WE DO IT?
The blog: Once we had a list of customers ready to take part, we interviewed each participant and carefully framed their story as a blog post, which you can find at the bottom of the page. You can also view the entire series by clicking the link here.
The live drawing: Contemporary artist Ian Cook (@POPBANGCOLOUR) then drew each classic in his signature style, live broadcasting each drawing as it was being done. Some customers even joined the live video to chat with him some more about their classic! You can see each drawing and live video above, simply click on the classic car you’d like to know more about.
POPBANGCOLOUR: Ian Cook of Popbangcolour’s #ContinuousCar drawing
Automotive artist Ian Cook has been known for painting with cars to create artworks since 2008, the year he famously painted a giant portrait of Lewis Hamilton that was displayed beside Tower Bridge.
From 2008 – 2020 Cook could be seen painting live with cars as a performance at major automotive events around the UK, Europe, the Middle East and USA.
In March 2020 #ContinuousCar drawings started: a live drawing experience streamed on social media channels during lockdown and the pandemic. Since then, over 1,200 drawings have been created.
The range of drawings Ian has created includes everything from classic to contemporary vehicles, race and iconic road cars, as well as agriculture machinery and company logos.
‘Popbang is a friendly explosion of colour’
We teamed up with Ian in 2021 to bring our customers cars to life, commissioning customer’s cars and our logo, following the massive success of his #ContinuousCar drawing project.
From August through to Christmas Ian could be found online most Tuesday nights, drawing Heritage customers’ classics and chatting with a handful of their owners.
We’re delighted to have this unique artwork to share with our customers and the classic car enthusiast world.
